This will never happen. Device notifications are an API surface area independent of the Firebase APIs, and react-native-firebase will no longer cover them. You must integrate a full-featured device-local notification package for that type of functionality. Users have reported success with Notifee, react-native-notifications and react-native-push-notifications (I believe I got those last 2 named correctly - if not it's close, there are definitely 3 different packages that could work)
